INDUSTRY is one of those Indianapolis venues that immediately pulls you in. The space sits just outside of downtown and spans over 6,800 square feet inside a former machine shop. What was once two separate buildings was thoughtfully joined into one expansive space that still carries the character of the original structure. Exposed brick, tall ceilings and strong architectural lines give the room a sense of history while still feeling clean and modern. It is the kind of place that photographs beautifully from every angle and holds up just as well on a rainy day as it does in full sun.
I had the honor of photographing this couple’s engagement session, so getting to work with them again on their wedding day felt familiar and easy. They were calm, happy and fully present from start to finish. They chose to keep getting ready coverage minimal so I could stay longer for the reception, which made perfect sense for them. Their focus was on the celebration and especially the dance floor.
It rained throughout the day, so we decided to keep all portraits indoors. INDUSTRY made that decision effortless. The brick textures, industrial details and generous natural light gave us plenty of variety without ever stepping outside. The space allowed us to move freely, shift backgrounds quickly and keep everything relaxed while still creating images that felt layered and rich.
I am sharing a mix of color and black and white from this wedding because black and white images carry so much weight. They strip a moment down to expression, light and movement. Emotion tends to linger longer when color steps aside. I always include a selection of black and white images with every wedding gallery, and couples are welcome to ask for more if they find themselves drawn to them. These frames especially shine during moments like dancing, laughter and those in between interactions that happen fast and disappear just as quickly.
The ceremony was beautiful ! The decor was simple, thoughtful and worked perfectly with the brick walls and natural light already filling the space. It gave the focus back to the couple, which is always my favorite kind of ceremony. There were so many small moments between the two of them, shared looks, hands squeezing a little tighter, smiles they clearly didn’t even realize they were making. One of the most meaningful parts was when they passed their wedding rings around the room so each guest could hold them and give a blessing or a quiet wish before they were exchanged. I’ve photographed a lot of ceremonies and that was a first for me. It felt intimate and personal and set such a warm tone for the rest of the day.

Once the reception began, the energy never dipped. The dance floor filled early and stayed packed the entire night. It was loud, joyful and constantly moving. Being able to stay late allowed me to document the full arc of the night, from the first songs to the final moments when everyone was still dancing like it was the peak of the evening. This wedding was a reminder of how powerful a great space, a connected couple and a room full of people ready to celebrate can be.
