This wedding took place at the Bottleworks Hotel in Indianapolis Indiana and it was such a fun day from start to finish. The couple were super chill and easy going, and they wanted the focus on the wedding and reception rather than a ton of getting ready photos.
The Bottleworks Hotel has an incredible history. Built in the 1930s by the Yuncker brothers as a Coca-Cola bottling plant, it has that roaring twenties Art Deco architecture mixed with industrial charm. The building itself feels timeless and full of character, which made every photo pop.
Since the wedding took place in December, it was cold, but the couple still wanted to brave the outdoors for a quick 20 minute session. We captured some shots outside before heading straight into the ceremony. There’s something about a winter wedding that just hits differently. The colors, the coziness, the way the light feels. Christmas weddings are rare for me and I always love the unique feel they bring.
The ceremony flowed beautifully and led straight into the reception. Guests mingled, danced, and celebrated in a way that kept the energy up all night. It was fun to document the moments that made the day feel lively and personal.
Inside, the space was warm and welcoming. The ceremony was elegant and heartfelt, with subtle holiday touches that felt natural rather than forced. Guests smiled, wiped tears, and shared quiet laughs that all made their way into the photos. Even in a large historic space, the intimate moments between the couple really stood out.
The reception was lively and energetic. People danced, caught up, and celebrated in the way that makes photographing weddings so fun. I loved capturing candid moments, people laughing around tables, kids spinning around the floor, little details that make the day feel alive. There was also a cozy, festive touch with the winter decor, which gave the photos that extra layer of warmth and charm.
This wedding was a perfect mix of historic architecture, winter colors, and a couple who just wanted to enjoy their day. Days like this are why I love being an Indianapolis wedding photographer, capturing couples being themselves in spaces that have so much character is always a joy.
