I love sessions where the couple lets you quietly follow along and just document them. This one was like that. We started at the Indianapolis Canal Walk downtown, weaving through the museums campus and along the water. They were reserved and sweet, but you could see the connection between them in little glances and quiet smiles. I guided them through some movement, letting them walk and interact naturally.
I’m posting all black and white images for this session. I like to do this sometimes on blog posts to show off the beauty of black and white photography and my love for it. It’s something I take pride in, and many of my couples really enjoy seeing these images alongside the color ones. I almost always include black and white photos with the color set because they hit differently. They have a way of feeling timeless and emotional, especially with the light at the Canal Walk and the architecture around us.
We wrapped up the session with a little champagne toast. Just them, a quiet celebration of their engagement. I love these moments. They’re simple, personal, and full of personality.
